Teaching through the Arts for Language Teachers

This course looks in detail at one of the ways in which the Theory of Multiple Intelligence is applied in the classroom. Its aim is to answer the questions

• What is the difference between learning and understanding?
• What is understanding?
• How can we be sure our students have understood?
• How can we evaluate understanding?

The best way to answer all these questions is by teaching through the arts. This includes using music, painting, and poetry.

Attention will be given in how to select material, and use it so that it becomes an entry point for using the multiple intelligences in class.
