Bardic Harp - Strings - gut or nylon

We have designed the Bardic harp so that it may be fitted with gut or nylon strings if so desired. In this case, the upper string (No. 1) will be an F, and the lowest string (No. 30) will be E.

When gut or nylon strings are used, middle C is string No. 18, and is about 360mm long (string bar to bridge pin).

Guitar strings used on the metal strung harp are no longer suitable, as these guitar strings have a steel core and the timbre will not suit the mellow tone of gut strings.

Bass strings should be the same as those recommended for the other harps described in this book.
