iMac: Do you know of real simple tutorials? - 1 of 10 |
These are some of the things I would love to share with her... I could probably make a CD with those that are digital, in a couple of weeks when I get my CD-writer...
1. The perfect thing is still the b/w interactive tutorial called variously "Introduction to Macintosh", "Welcome to Macintosh" and "Macintosh Basics": 1991, I think. It crashes my Power Macs, but Robert in Wales (I think you met him in Surrey) says it does work on his PowerMac 6400; so I guess it's a question of which system they're using; it would be well worth the effort to track down someone with system 7.x and spending an hour or so with their computer...... I even wondered about taking screen shots and re-working it in Director (it was made in MacroMind, D's forerunner. but v.5 can't read it), but it's just too much work. It's a problem, because - although I could absolutely think of getting a wind-up gramophone to play 78's - the idea of keeping a 680x0 Mac just for that one program seems a bit extreme... But it *is* a classic, and nothing has taken its place... |
