 oivo  õmer
studied classical guitar at Tartu College of Music,
and has a background in folk music, rock &
jazz.
|
He has been active in a variety of groups,
and has appeared at numerous festivals, in Estonia
and further afield. He has been playing with Via
Sonora since 1989. Featuring medieval lute and
Asian plucked instruments in medieval programs, in
latter years he has also studied renaissance lute
and attended courses given by various masters,
including Rolf Lislevald.

At the same time as playing in Via Sonora, Toivo
Sõmer teaches plucked instruments and plays with the folk
music group "O'Lalla".
